Ladislav Haas – Ich baue hier wieder meine Insel … (S. 67–88)
Zusammenfassung: Dieser Artikel handelt von Leben und Werk von Ladislav Haas, einer bedeutenden Persönlichkeit der ersten Generation tschechoslowakischer Psychoanalytiker. Haas ist einer der »Drei Könige des Ostens«, allesamt direkte Mitglieder der IPA, die 1963 in Stockholm anerkannt wurden, und der einzige Tschechoslowake, der in die British Psychoanalytical Society aufgenommen wurde. Der Autor verfolgt Haas’ Entwicklung von der Neurologie und Psychiatrie zur Psychoanalyse und vom Marxismus zur unvermeidlichen Ernüchterung. Als linker Psychoanalytiker wurde Haas in den 1950er-Jahren zum Ziel der regimefreundlichen Ärzte und wegen der Behandlung des kommunistischen Präsidenten Klement Gottwald für fast zwei Jahre inhaftiert. Zusammenstöße mit den Nazis und den kommunistischen Diktaturen führten wiederholt zu seiner Auswanderung (1939–1945 und 1965–1986). Dieser Artikel basiert auf unveröffentlichten Dokumenten im Archiv der Sicherheitsdienste, im Nationalarchiv in Prag und in der Korrespondenz von Haas.
Summary: Ladislav Haas – I build my island here again … This article is about the life and work of Ladislav Haas, a significant figure of the first generation of Czechoslovak psychoanalysts. Haas is one of the »Three Kings of the East«, direct members of the IPA recognized in Stockholm in 1963, and the only Czechoslovak admitted into the British Psychoanalytical Society. The author follows Haas‘s development from neurology and psychiatry to psychoanalysis and from Marxism to unavoidable disillusionment. As a left-wing psychoanalyst, Haas became a target of the pro-regime doctors in the 1950’s and was imprisoned for almost two years for treating the communist President Klement Gottwald. Clashes with the Nazi and the communist dictatorships resulted repeatedly in his emigration (1939–1945 and 1965–1986). This article draws from unpublished documents located in the Security Services Archive, in the National Archives in Prague and Haas´s correspondence.
