Der Basler Gewerbeinspektor Walter Strub (1882–1938), Leser und Autor der Zeitschrift für psychoanalytische Pädagogik. Ein Beitrag zur Rezeptionsgeschichte der Psychoanalyse (S. 133–150)

Zusammenfassung: Walter Strub, Gründungsmitglied der kommunistischen Partei der Schweiz, war von 1910 bis zu seinem Tod 1938 Gewerbeinspektor in Basel. Er wirkte in seiner Heimatstadt maßgeblich bei der Entwicklung eines sozialen Arbeitsrechts mit und schuf Richtlinien für die Lehrlingsausbildung. Er nahm Anteil an den sozialen und kulturellen Entwicklungen seiner Zeit, so auch an der Psychoanalyse. Mit Hans Zulliger befreundet, versuchte er in seiner Arbeit mit Lehrlingen, psychoanalytisches Gedankengut umzusetzen, worüber er 1931 einen Aufsatz in der Zeitschrift für psychoanalytische Pädagogik veröffentlichte. Während einer schweren Lebens- und Ehekrise war er, wie seine Frau Margrit, in Behandlung bei dem Basler Psychoanalytiker Hans Christoffel. Beide Strubs sind Protagonisten der praktischen Anwendung psychoanalytischer und sexualreformerischer Ideen im Rahmen der Arbeiterbewegung ihrer Zeit.

Summary: Walter Strub (1882–1938), reader and author of the Zeitschrift für psychoanalytische Pädagogik in Basel. A contribution to the reception of psychoanalysis. Walter Strub, founding member of the Swiss Communist Party, was from 1910 until 1938 head of the factory inspectorate of Basel (Switzerland). He made decisive contributions to the development of social and labour legislation in his native city and set guidelines for the training of apprentices. Strub was involved in the social and cultural developments of his times, not least in psychoanalysis. Being a friend of Hans Zulliger, he tried to apply psychoanalytic principles to his work with apprentices; he published a paper about this in the Zeitschrift für psychoanalytische Pädagogik. During a severe professional and marital crisis, both he and his wife, Margrit were in treatment with the Basel psychoanalyst Hans Christoffel. The Strubs can be seen as protagonists of the practical application of psychoanalytic ideas and sexual reform within the context of the labour movement of the early 20th century.
