Der Artikel „Aphasie“ in Villarets Handwörterbuch (S. 175–184)

Zusammenfassung: Freuds Autorschaft für den Villaret-Artikel „Aphasie“ wird mit drei Argumenten begründet: 1. der inhaltlichen Nähe zu Charcots Vorlesungen, die Freud kurz zuvor übersetzt hatte; 2. dem Nachweis einer für Freud spezifischen „Kernthese“, dass sich das Sprachassoziationsfeld zwischen den Rindenfeldern „der Zunge und Lippen, des Armes, des Gehörs und Gesichtes“ ausbreite und an diese wie an die „Ecken“ eines zusammenhängenden Feldes anstoße, die sich im Artikel ebenso wie in seinen späteren Schriften findet; 3. differenzierenden Beobachtungen über die Bearbeitung oder Nicht-Bearbeitung von Artikeln der 1. in der 2. Auflage des Handwörterbuchs.


Summary: The “aphasia” article in Villaret’s Handwörterbuch. Freud’s authorship is
founded on three arguments: 1) the reasoning of the article is close to Charcot’s lectures which Freud had just translated; 2) there is a specific Freudian core thesis, common to the article and his later writings, namely the notion of an associative speech area extending between the „motor fields of the cortex and those of the optic and auditory nerves“ and touching them like „corners“ of a continuous field; 3) general observations on the revision or non-revision of articles taken over from the 1st to the 2nd edition of Villaret.
