Karl Abraham – Ernest Jones
Briefwechsel 1911–1925.

Summary: This text presents, for the first time, a collection of 32 letters and postcards exchanged between Karl Abraham and Ernest Jones (1911–1925), which were found in four different archives in England and the USA, and which are presented in their context of development with the help of intermediate texts and editorial notes. Apart from a few scientific comments, they deal primarily with the correspondents’ collaboration in the Central Office of the International Psychoanalytic Association (e.g., regarding the preparation of congresses), and with conflicts within the so-called Secret Committee, in which Abraham and Jones increasingly view themselves as allies. We also find a number of private and personal remarks, the more so as a friendship between the two men gradually develops.
