Leonhard Seif, die psychoanalytische Szene in München vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg und der Freud-Jung-Konflikt (S. 10-25)
Zusammenfassung: Der Aufsatz beleuchtet die psychoanalytischen Jahre des Münchener Nervenarztes und Psychotherapeuten Leonhard Seif (1866–1949), mit einigen Angaben zum lokalen Kontext. Seif gründete 1911 die zweite Ortsgruppe der IPV in Deutschland und engagierte sich bis zum 4. psychoanalytischen Kongress, der 1913 in München stattfand, für Freuds Lehre. Er hatte 1909 über Jung, mit dem ihn zunächst die Hochschätzung für Freud verband, Kontakt zur psychoanalytischen community bekommen. Ab 1912 geriet er zwischen die Fronten, als sich der Freud-Jung-Konflikt verschärfte. Seif entschied sich, wohl aus persönlicher Loylität, für Jung und verließ zusammen mit ihm die IPV. Wenig später jedoch wandte er sich der Adler-Schule zu und baute erfolgreich die Münchner individualpsychologische Gruppe auf.
Summary: Leonhard Seif, the psychoanalytic scene in Munich before World War I and the conflict between Freud and Jung. This article examines the early psychoanalytical years of the neurologist and psychotherapist L. Seif (1866–1949), complemented by some information about the local context. In 1911, Seif founded the second IPA group in Germany; he continued his commitment to Freud's psychoanalysis up to 1913 when the 4th psychoanalytical congress took place in Munich. It was Jung who had brought him into the psychoanalytical community and with whom he at first shared his high appreciation for Freud. But from 1912 on when the conflict between Freud and Jung increased, Seif got caught between the lines. In the end, presumably out of personal loyalty, he took Jung's side and left the IPA together with him. Shortly afterwards, however, he turned to individual psychology, establishing an Adlerian group in Munich.
